To make sure you don't miss those road signs, YRP Ubiquitous Test Net Forum is developing an RFID tag that is placed on street signs and is read by an antenna attached to your car's navigation system to tell what signs are ahead. Currently, the RFID tag can be read by a reader within 30m. A car traveling at 72 km/hour or about 45 mph will receive a 2 second warning before the sign but as the system improves and becomes more powerful there will be more warning time. This system will possibly be available next year.
