Bryan Dale Headley, The Singing Blacksmith walks us through a beginner project: making an "S" Hook. Bryan teaches us how to heat and form the ends of the 5/16" rod of steel to a nice rounded point using his hammer and anvil. He follows this by forming the curve of the "S" using his cone anvil. He then uses pliers to create a freeform scroll on the tip of the "S". While working Bryan gives us advice on the forge and fuel, safety, cooling the steel, anvil techniques and more. Brian caps of his lesson with a little song of his own in the style of Willie Nelson. The blacksmithing lesson is followed by Stacy Lyn Harris instructing us on a recipe for Steak with Garlic Parmesan Herb Butter. She cooks the steaks in her cast iron skillet and finishes them in the over. Mmm!
