President Cyril Ramaphosa has reached out to the families of the Marikana victims. He revisited the 2012 massacre in his response to the debate on his State of the Nation Address. Ramaphosa was a Lonmin director at the time, calling for concomitant action to stop the killings preceding the bloodbath at the koppie. In his address, he also committed to the speedy implementation of lifestyle audits for members of the executive and steered clear of who will remain in that executive.
