Technical Exercises: Lesson 2 - Bass Guitar Lesson

Upright and electric bassist Jared Plane presents his new mini series on, "Technical Exercises". This series discusses many of Jared's favourite warm-up exercises for both the left and right hands. Having good technique is not only very important for ease of playing, but even more so for longevity in the music industry, and as a player. These exercises will help to fine tune your technique, not just so you can play fast, but so that your hands and fingers can play in all positions, and all shapes across the frets of the fingerboard to help you to really play what you hear in your head.

Many of the exercises in this mini series are strictly non-musical and repetitive. However, the main goal of these exercises is to strengthen, and condition the left and right hands for playing. They are designed to limber up the fingers, hands, arms and wrists so that you can tackle more challenging things during your practise regimens.
