Former South African Deputy President and currently Excutive Director of UN Women - Dr Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka has called on South Africans to rally behind government in it's bid for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council. South Africa will know in two weeks time how successful its bid has been. Staff at the country's permanent mission in New York are engaged in furious rounds of lobbying to ensure the support of as many member states as possible despite only requiring a two-thirds majority to attain the uncontested African seat. Dr Mlambo Ngcuka says she is confident that Pretoria will receive the nod. For more news, visit: sabcnews.com
