Jesse and I spend a couple hours in the blissfully peaceful Cafe Dan in the gorgeous and quirky Tianzifang area of Shanghai. This is the last full day we have with the group before we begin our three-week adventure around China by ourselves! (Closed Captioned) The Backdrop: We spent May-July in China (eight weeks in total). For the first month, I co-led a study abroad trip that brought sixteen college students to the Nanjing University of Science and Technology to study beginning Chinese. I also co-taught a Travel Writing class. As part of that trip, we went to Beijing, Nanjing, Suzhou, Shanghai, Yellow Mountain, and Slender West Lake. Once the students left for home, my husband Jesse and I traveled around China for a few more weeks. Our travels brought us to Xi'An, Chengdu, Leshan, Jiuzhaigou, Yangshuo, and Hong Kong.
