An armed man was arrested in Singapore after he got involved in a stand-off with police officers at the Woodlands Checkpoint on Friday. According to authorities, the 43-year-old suspect had stolen the car from a woman along upper Bukit Timah Road before crashing it into a lamp post prior to the standoff. He was believed to be under the influence of drugs. Police also found suspected drug paraphernalia, controlled drugs, a knife, an axe and a sickle in his possession. He has since been arrested for armed robbery, possession of offensive weapons and suspected drug related offences. Investigations are currently ongoing.
