22 families of slain suspected criminals in different areas in Nairobi have filed a petition against the National Police Service for what they term as extrajudicial killings committed by a killer squad within the police force. The petition that is strongly backed by the International Justice Mission which is listed as the 24th petitioner and which decries the failure of the police to treat every suspect as innocent unless proven otherwise by a court of law. The petition lists the attorney general and the police inspector general as the first and second respondents.
