Meet Chander Kant A master craftsman in Jali openwork, Chander creates ornate wooden jewelry. Chandler learned to carve by watching his father, grandfather and uncle — all of whom have received India’s prestigious National Award for Excellence in the craft. In 1990, Chandler was selected to participate in a government-sponsored year-long training program for young artisans. That’s when he officially joined the family business. Today he and his four brothers specialize in hand-carved sculpture and jewelry. "All of my family, including my four brothers, are involved in this work and love the art form.”
