Residents in several flats in Kuala Lumpur are urging the authorities to act against irresponsible parties who throw rubbish and construction debris from high-rises, causing head injuries and damage to vehicles. Every day someone dumps rubbish such as diapers, food, bottles, sharp objects and even sanitary pads from their windows of their flat units. Through our crew two hours observation in the PPR lembah Subang in Petaling Jaya we discovered many garbage were littered indiscreetly in the surrounding area. Many objects placed on the balconies are at risk of falling down that may injured anyone who passed by - especially at the ground floor. We believed that, if authorities do not insist on addressing this problem, more injuries will occur. It comes down to the awareness of the residents who are living in flats. CCTV also needs to be installed to catch the culprits in action, while continuous campaigns to educate residents on proper methods of rubbish disposal.
