Nearly 6% of the total population in Zimbabwe is orphaned due to HIV/AIDS.  Many children are able to continue attending school due to a strong family network of grandparents and relatives. International aid to Zimbabwe has decreased due to increasing pressure against President Mugabe. Yet, in spite of all this, some progress has been made.
