The #Netravati or Tulu River has its origins in the Western Ghats near Gangamoola in Kudremukh, Chikkamagaluru district of #Karnataka. This River flows through the famous pilgrimage place Dharmasthala. It merges with the Kumaradhara River at Uppinangadi before flowing to the Arabian Sea, south of Mangalore city.

Earlier it was known as the #Bantwal River. The Netravati River is navigable by small country craft for many miles. Often Bantwal has been submerged during the monsoon by the overflowing Netravati. Many residents left the town. The major floods occurred in 1928 and 1974.

Ernad connects Mangalore and Nagercoil, covers 690 kms. Belongs to Southern Railway.

Route / Junctions - Shoranur, Ernakulam, Kayankulam, Kollam, Thiruvananthapuram.
