Pentagon suspends all F-35 flights after crash, examines fuel tubes

The US Department of Defense said on Thursday it is suspending all F-35 fighter jet operations to examine the plane's fuel tubes. The suspension comes after an F-35B jet crashed last month in the US state of South Carolina. The F-35 stealth jet has three variants, among which F-35B is the only model with short-take off and vertical landing abilities. Authorities said if suspect fuel tubes are installed, the part will be removed and replaced, while aircraft with good tubes will resume flights. The inspections are expected to be completed within the next 24 to 48 hours.
