The "Kahumoku `Ohana Hawaiian Music & Lifestyle" Workshop, December 2008. Part 2 of 3: Punalu'u Beach. On the last two days of the workshop, the students and instructors relocated to Punalu'u Beach. After they set up camp, they enjoyed some free time at the beach - Opening coconuts, kani-kapila jam-sessions, lei-making, and of course, eating. Sonny Lim cleans some Tako (Squid) to make poke with, and Moses Kahumoku rocks out with his amplifier. For dinner, they enjoyed a meal at the "Hana Hou!" restaurant, to some live christmas music. Then, early the next morning, they gathered once again at the shores of Punalu'u, and chanted to welcome the rising sun. They joined hands in prayer, and reflected on their time shared together, singing "Hawai'i Aloha" as the golden rays of the sun emerged from behind the clouds. Great memories, great people, and just pure Aloha all around.
