Considering a career in criminal justice, but not sure what justice studies degree you need? You might need a bachelor’s degree, an associate’s degree or simply a certificate – depending on your background and your future path. Does a paralegal need the same degree as a police officer? Do you need to go back to school or can you move ahead from where you are?

Before you commit to a justice studies degree program, be sure it’s what you need – and what you want. If you’re just starting out and looking for entry-level work, maybe you’ll just need an associate’s degree. If you’ve been working for a while and are hoping for a career change, it’s possible that a certificate will get you where you want to be.
