Trapping and Branding Sea Lions 8/14

ODFW & PSMFS employees force sea lions into small cages before branding them with hot irons.. The caged animals are forced to smell the burning flesh of their brethren which causes much distress for all. SLDB reports that on this particular day some of these animals remained in the trap for up to six hours, As well some remained in the small trap for as long as four hours on this day of branding and testing. This process is very stressful and many sea lions get injured when they are trampled under the weight of the bigger animals. And then they are forced into a small space with a lot of other animals and held there for four hours. These animals suffer from this stress full and painful process. This tax payer funded war on wildlife must end! Clemency Now for the Hungry! Please ask NOAA to pull the permit for "lethal take" of sea lions on the Columbia River.
