The killing of 6 people in Dandora on suspicion of rape and violent robbery, has raised questions on just why police officers kill suspects, especially where serious crimes are involved. 
Areas such as Mathare and Dandora have long borne the brunt of police killings, which appear to have replaced  arrests and prosecutions as the principal methods, of dealing with suspected criminals.
