Here are 10 tips for painting in Water Soluble Graphite that I found while creating this piece, "Daydream Believer: A Tribute to Davy Jones: The Monkees". Chances are if you like to create art with dry graphite, you'll enjoy water soluble graphite. You can cover larger areas quicker, while still achieving a painterly look with a graphite finish. 

This video also features the speed paint from 2 angles so you can see clearly what I'm doing while giving you the voice over tips.

For corrections in the upper lip area, I used a light coat of Caran D'Ache white gouache, but any white gouache will do. 

Though it doesn't show in the speed paint (both cameras died), I softened up the corners of the mouth and corners of the eye with a 2H and HB pencils. I used the following brand if you're interested:
