This video will show you one of the problems that I have faced, while building room additions.  As ceiling building code requirements installation get larger, the need for larger roof rafters, becomes a necessity.  If you have an existing 2 x 6 roof rafter, you could have a problem shoving R-30 insulation that's 9 1/2 inches thick into a 5 1/2 inch space.
