loudlabs.com RIVERSIDE - On Saturday evening November 17, 2018 the City of Riverside Fire Department responded to multiple reports of a structure fire at an abandoned elementary school. The fire was reported around 5:56pm at the old Hawthorne Elementary School in the 9100 block of Indiana Ave. The first arriving resourced found several classrooms well involved in fire. Firefighters made an aggressive fire attack and were able to contain the blaze to the one building, preventing it from spreading to the surrounding buildings and classrooms. The cause of the fire is under investigation and no injuries were reported.
