Fire at Old Hudepohl Brewery in Queensgate

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- A fire was reported at the former Hudepohl brewery on West 6th Street in Queensgate Sunday afternoon. When crews got there, they found heavy fire on the first floor and heavy black smoke coming from all 3 floors. Firefighters were able to get the fire under control  in about 20 minutes. There were a number of hazards in the building due to previous fire damage and scrapping operations.Investigators say the fire was started by work crews using cutting torches inside the building, which caused scrap material to ignite. Several propane tanks were involved in the fire, with a few of them venting and burning.No injuries were reported. A damage estimate was not immediately available.
