Hopes are high ahead of the Investment Conference that will be held at the Sandton Convention Centre later this month. But some uncertainty around South Africa's ability to bring in the money remains. The Investment Conference was first announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa in his State of the Nation Address earlier this year. It forms part of a drive to mobilise R1.2 trillion in new investments over the next five years. In the run-up to the Conference President Ramaphosa appointed four special envoys to engage investors, former Finance Minister, Trevor Manuel, former Deputy Finance Minister Mcebisi Jonas, Chair of Afropulse Group, Phumzile Langeni and former Standard Bank CEO Jacko Maree.
