CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Despite a statehouse protest by Ohio superintendents, Governor John Kasich will not back down from tough, new, state high-school graduation requirements. But the governor said his administration will take another look at whether the proposed standards correctly measure what students need to know to go to college or enter the workplace. School leaders said many students will not graduate if the plan takes effect in 2018. Starting with the class of 2018, they have to average at least 2.6 points of a possible 5 across the seven, end-of-course tests to receive a diploma.
