For more from the AT&T Archives, visit http://techchannel.att.com/archives Shows the many steps involved in manufacturing telephones, circa 1974, through the eyes of children. The film follows 15 Indianapolis schoolchildren as they draw their impressions of the telephone production assembly line at Western Electric's Indianapolis Works. The children's drawings are lightly animated, and they themselves are the narrators. The Western Electric Indianapolis Works manufactured, among others, the famous Trimline and Princess telephones, which came in many colors. The plant was opened in 1948, and was closed in 1986, when operations were moved overseas. Footage courtesy of AT&T Archives and History Center, Warren, NJ
