Thousands of people infected by water borne disease in Sudan

The World Health Organization has confirmed dozens of cases of acute watery diarrhea in Sudan. Watery diarrhea is similar to Cholera. Polluted drinking water is the main cause of the spread of disease. The water borne disease broke out last September.Most of the reported cases are in Al Gazira State. It has led to the deaths of at least 57 people and has infected thousands of others in different parts of the country. Sudan's government has provided sprayers, pesticides, drugs and garbage collection vehicles to enhance a healthy environment. But the WHO is concerned that the disease may spread further to other states, including the capital Khartoum
