If there is a white film or residue on the interior of your dishwasher and glassware, you have hard water. Hard water consists of mineral deposits which can cause damage to your dishwasher and make it difficult to achieve good cleaning. A water softener is strongly recommended if you have high levels of hard water. You can take a sample of your water to your nearest Sears store to test for hard water levels. Use a hard water cleaner like Dishwasher Magic every two months to remove any stains.
Make sure to follow the manufacturer's directions when using this type of product. To ensure proper cleaning make sure to always use rinse aid. Adjust the rinse aid dispenser according to your water hardness level. Always use a high-quality fresh detergent and make sure to use the proper amount of detergent. The harder your water, the more detergent you will need.
