Pickup Coil Charges a Cap Above Battery Voltage — Ainslie

A coil bent over the inductive resistor of the Rosemary Ainslie circuit produces about 30 to 33 V DC through a full-wave bridge with nothing connected to it, and is used to charge a capacitor feeding the front of the 555 timer circuit through an isolating diode. Meters show the cap sitting at 8.29 V against a 7.91 V timer battery, about 0.4 V above it, so the battery cannot be charging the cap. A 2200 uF 50 V capacitor is then fitted in place of the smaller one.
