Kenya's Equity Bank considering buying some Barclays assets

We start in East Africa, Kenya's Equity Bank, which boasts the largest customer base in the country, says it may be interested in buying parts of Barclays' Africa business. CEO James Mwangi told Reuters that he saw potential acquisition opportunities following Barclays' decision to reduce its stake in its Barclays Africa Group, which has businesses across the continent. Alongside Kenya, Equity has operations in Uganda, Tanzania, South Sudan, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
