This is the last few minutes of a longer video published by altrasurfers showing his MONSTER surfboard cutting CNC machine which is driven by our SLAm stepper drivers. Two steppers with a SLAm each run the carriage (one on each side), then another runs the head back and forth on the carriage and the 4th runs the cutter up and down. And he gets 200 IPM! Not bad for a $40 driver! Total drive cost (excluding power supply and heat sinks) under $170 including the $10 repair of 2 drivers fried during testing and a 4 axis break out board. Finished 11 foot SUP board: https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/65uUywPjvbdKg9OM82bULg?feat=directlink Shaping machine Info: Max cutting: 40 x 144 x 10 in Cutting speed: Currently 200ipm Cutting speed with a good power source: +- 350~400imp Bit: 1in dia.
