The new version of the Break Out Board and how assemble the +5 volt logic power regulator 7805 option. This option is no longer shipped with the kit (we upgraded to an LM317 version) but the 7805 is available from pretty much any local electronics store. The written assembly instructions for this option or for the new LM317 version are here: http://www.massmind.org/techref/io/stepper/linistep/4axis5build.htm#+5 All stepper motor drivers need logic power. Some driver board include a regulator on the board to provide it from the motor power, but it seemed like a waste to have a separate regulator on each driver; it just makes more sense to have one on the break out board. So that is what we do: The one regulator can provide logic power for up to 4 drivers when the motor supply voltage isn't too high. If you have a separate source of +5 regulated power, you can use that instead; just wire it into the BOB Panel and the 4Axis cable will distribute it to the drivers. The PCB, with Full documentation (schematics, layout, assembly instructions, options, etc...) is available here http://www.piclist.com/techref/io/stepper/linistep/4axis5build.htm Other options (parallel port, break out, spindle relay driver, etc... ) are listed with the board documentation. Compatible stepper motor drivers: http://www.piclist.com/techref/io/steppers.htm
