The new version of the Break Out Board and how assemble the Relay driver option. This option is available here: http://www.piclist.com/techref/ecomprice.asp?p=416068 Or from pretty much any local electronics store. The 2 pin headers are Jameco 152347 (made by On Shore Technology) Professionally designed circuit with beefy TIP122 driver, back EMF protection diode, anti-ringing cap, and indicator LED. Will drive a relay capable of being activated by 5 Volts DC, and a few hundred milliamps. Uses the 5 volt power supply to drive the relay coil. This can be modified to use an external power supply by cutting the trace on the top of the PCB that feeds +5 to J7 and then providing your own relay coil drive power at J7. The circuit works by grounding the relay coil at J8 or allowing J8 to float so any positive voltage (up to 35 volts) can be supported. In most cases the +5 works fine, there are lots of 5 volt relays that can control hefty spindle motors. DANGER! Relays can control large voltages, and high currents such as mains power to a spindle. Touching the wrong wire on your relay can KILL YOU DEAD! And accidentally shorting mains power through the relay driver will fry just about everything. We accept NO responsibility for damages to anything or anyone. TANSTAAFL! The PCB, with Full documentation (schematics, layout, assembly instructions, options, etc...) is available here http://www.piclist.com/techref/io/stepper/linistep/4axis5build.htm Other options (parallel port, break out, +5 logic power supply, etc... ) are listed with the board documentation. Compatible stepper motor drivers: http://www.piclist.com/techref/io/steppers.htm
