Sea Lions, and other marine mammals, pacific lamprey, seabirds, sturgeon, and wild salmon all have important jobs in creating a healthy and producing Pacific Northwest ecology. Thy all function better together the weight of the evidence shows than a part. In the end the Columbia River estuary extends from the pacific ocean 146 nautical miles east all the way to the Bonneville Dam, and into the Willamette River to Willamette Falls. And the Columbia River estuary has always been home to sea lions, and other marine mammals , pacific lamprey, and wild salmon whose populations once thrived together in the Pacific Northwest bioregion for thousands of years just fine before ODFW, WDFW, BPA, PGE, US ACOE, USDA, and NMFS came to town.
