Google+ Hangout: Lucy Liu, on her Lebanon visit and the Syria Crisis' impact on children

When actress and UNICEF Ambassador Lucy Liu visited Lebanon last month, she saw camps that were severely underserved. Families living in make-shift tents. Children playing in waste, in rubble. Currently, up to one million Syrian refugees are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance in Lebanon, with refugee children throughout the region facing similarly dire circumstances.

"This is a children's crisis and it's only getting worse," says Liu.

On July 1, Lucy Liu; Luciano Calestini, UNICEF's Head of Emergency Response in Lebanon; and Simon Ingram, Regional Chief of Communication at UNICEF Middle East & North Africa, joined the U.S. Fund for UNICEF for a Google+ Hangout to address the needs of millions of children who will carry physical and emotional scars of this conflict. The panel discussed what they saw on Lucy's recent visit, ongoing funding challenges and how YOU can help UNICEF provide Syrian refugee children with nutrition, medical care and education.
