Royal Caribbean Vision Of The Seas Loses Power In the Mediterranean Near Santorini Greece Reports from the Mediterranean Sea have indicated that the Royal Caribbean cruise ship Vision of the Seas had lost all power between Mykanos and Santorini Greece on the evening of May 22nd 2018. The ship was adrift and only emergency lighting systems were operating. The power outage was resolved after about 10 minutes and there was an unconfirmed report that the ship had struck something in the water. After power was restored, the ship continued on to Santorini but a a reduced speed of 7 knots. The Vision of the Seas has since left Santorini and is headed towards Malta and the port of Valletta. It is scheduled to sail for a full day at sea and make Barcelona on May 26th 2018. It is expected that the ship will be inspected below the water line for any damage. No future cruises have been affected by this incident to date.
