Isle of Klezbos vocalist Melissa Fogarty performs UNTER BEYMER (Beneath the Trees), a Yiddish lullaby written for the 1940 Yiddish film "Overture to Glory" [Der Vilner Shtot Khazn / The Vilna City Cantor]. Lyrics by the screen cantorial star Moishe Oysher; music by Alexander Olshanetsky. The melody was deliberately composed to be confused in the screen narrative with an aria from the Polish opera "Halka."

Isle of Klezbos (all-women's klezmer sextet) performed this live at NYC's Cornelia Street Cafe, a cultural & culinary landmark in the West Village, on April 22, 2012.
