Arundathi Chatterjee Arundathi Chatterjee clutched her children close. Minutes of terror passed by like hours she didn't know if they would see the morning. She remembers that night when she was with her three children. Her husband was not there and 21 dacoits attacked their home. The bandits mercilessly roughed up Arundathi's little children. They tried to burn her son's face with a candle and wanted to take her younger daughter with them. But she cried and urged them to spare her children and if they want they can take anything they want. Arundathi and her children were miraculously saved that day. But her troubles had only just begun. She lost all the money and ornaments including the future of her sons and daughters. Nothing was left in their home. She received no help from her extended family and soon found herself having to care for a sick husband and 3 growing children all by herself with the little money left. She had some ornaments left but that soon ran out... Soon, Arundathi was left with her last piece of jewellery. She and her son were crying that day when she sold that last piece of gold. Arundathi was at the end of her rope. No money. No help from the family. She had reached rock-bottom and then a miracle. The very next day she got a call from some Mrs. Jennifer. And she said three words to her, "Jesus is calling you." Mrs. Jennifer told her about a church called Mutangi church and she said, 'Go to it'. You will get peace." But she told Mrs. Jennifer that she don't have any money to go anywhere! Then Mrs. Jennifer told her that a brother would call her and give her some money. These incidents left Arundathi bewildered. That day she was very confused! Why did this unknown lady call her and unknown brother gave her husband 500 rupees? All of this was miraculous for her and they also left her encouraged. And she began attending the local AG church with her family. Her pastor counseled her and told her to start reading the Bible and by doing that she will get peace. She listened to him and started reading the Bible daily and Jesus began talking to her through the Bible. God was about to give Arundathi a breakthrough she could have never imagined. The family had a plot of land that had been un-sellable for years. One fine day, Mr. R. K. Gupta appeared out of the blue and offered to buy the land, at a very good price. This was the end of the financial problems in her life. And when she looks back, she knew it was a miracle from Jesus. Arundathi's daily needs were being met in miraculous ways. Her faith in Jesus grew from strength to strength. And then, one day, Arundathi decided to take the next step of taking baptism. After experiencing the goodness of Jesus all these years, Arundathi's only prayer is that the rest of her family will experience salvation too. Now, her faith cannot be shaken. She has experienced Jesus Christ too fully to let Him go. Today, Arundathi looks back at her life and sees the purpose behind her hardships.
