Pruning and Focusing Fertility with 'lure' branches

 I am repeating a promising experiment that I worked with a number of years ago.  Pruning apple branches in late winter and putting the branches in areas where I want more fertility is an exciting trick.  Both rabbits and deer come in strong numbers to eat the bark and tip wood as a late winter food source.  While chewing down the branches they deposit considerable amounts of manure and urine where the branches are placed.  This allows me to get an additional yield from the pruning work I have to do anyway and at the same time I'm able to support the wild life in the landscape and hold the possibility of harvesting them if I needed (which I currently don't, so I'm happy to know they are well fed!)
