11:00:56  Young boy, Jack, asleep in bed - alarm clock rings.  VO "Jack! Out of that bed right now!"  Jack combs hair at mirror, sounds inc. father heard whistling in BG.
11:01:56  Family eating breakfast; car pulls up outside & honks.  Mother at window as she waves father off to work thru venetian blinds.  Grandfather clock chimes - 8.30.
11:02:44  EXT traffic cop blows whistle & gestures to cars; helps Jack & others across road.  Jack hears noise from school playground.  Kids playing baseball.
11:03:26  CU Jack's friend yelps & falls to ground as he's hit on the ear by baseball from playground - VO "Oh, do you know how serious that can be?" - kids crowd round.
11:03:41  School nurse tends Joe's ear; talks, SOF, to kids about looking after their ears.  "What do you think your ears look like?" - cue chorus of "Like ears, like this!" w/ kids pointing to ears; nurse points to convenient diagram of outer & inner ear on wall.  Shows them how to hold throat while singing scale of "Do, re, me..."; animated diagram of air vibrations entering ear.  Nurse explains inner ear.
11:06:35  Nurse talks about caring for outer ear - cutaway to one of the boys at home washing ears - CU lump of earwax on washcloth.  Boy tempted to poke wax out w/ pencil but stops himself.  Boy goofs around after nurse, says doctor would "probably tell you never to put anything but your elbow into your ear".  Nurse gives more advice.
11:07:39  Cutaway to boy at outdoor pool, reads sign 'Inspected By City Health Department' & puts in earplugs to guard against ear infections - busy pool w/ kids on diving boards.  Nurse talks about middle ear - kids practice swallowing & blowing nose correctly.
11:10:21  Male narrator returns to summarize ear care w/ corresponding shots of kids washing, blowing nose etc.  Kids file out of classroom - VO "If we use them well we can find a great deal to enjoy & learn from the sounds around us" - kids run onto playground.
