The NBA 2K17 MyGM series continues in Houston as we take over the Houston Rockets. Built perfectly around superstar James Harden, the Rockets can be successful right away in NBA 2K17’s MyGM or MyLeague mode. The team’s core will stay together for a while, giving you plenty of opportunity to slowly improve the roster in Houston after taking over as GM of the Rockets. Your main goal should be to continue building around Harden, while bringing the team into NBA championship contention. It’s definitely win-now mode in Houston and not time for a Rockets rebuild yet.  In this video I will try to give you a few ideas for moves to make with the Houston Rockets in NBA 2K17 MyGM or MyLeague mode.

We will take a look at the Houston Rockets roster, rotation, contracts and salaries and then make a trade, because that is all we have trade assets for. Then we discuss the contract of Rockets’ big man Nenê, move on to the offseason and into free agency. As always, with all the moves I try to keep this NBA 2K17 video as realistic as possible.

PLEASE NOTE: I have recorded this NBA 2K17 MyGM guide in the MyLeague mode of NBA 2K17. This was done to prevent my 2k account from leveling up in MyGM. All moves that are made in this video in MyLeague mode can also be made without any problems in MyGM mode.

This NBA 2K17 MyGM video aims to be a realistic guide with ideas on what moves to make in the first year of either MyGM or MyLeague mode. There might be better moves to make – there might also be worse moves to make. NBA 2K17 MyGM mode always offers multiple strategies to achieve success and this video tries to outline only one of them. Above all, realism is key in this series – as far as the game allows for it. We will not go after the same big name free-agents every year and we will not exploit NBA 2K17’s trade logic.

NBA 2K17 is a basketball simulation video game developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K Sports. It is the 18th installment in the NBA 2K franchise and the successor to NBA 2K16. It was released worldwide on September 20, 2016, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. Several game modes are included, such as MyCareer, where the player creates a customizable player and plays through their career, MyGM and MyLeague, both franchise modes where the player controls an entire organization, and MyTeam, where the player creates a team to compete against other players' teams.

All NBA 2K17 MyGM gameplay was recorded on the PC at 1080p.
