We take command of the Miami Heat in this part of our NBA 2K17 MyGM / MyLeague mode series! The Heat are a bit better off in NBA 2K17 than in real life largely because of the absent health problems of Chris Bosh. They are in a good position to make a push for the playoffs, although Miami is not a championship contender. With a realistic approach in MyGM or MyLeague mode it’s a good strategy to strengthen your bench and get rid of unattractive contracts while keeping the core of Dragic, Bosh and Whiteside intact. Especially at the Shooting Guard and Small Forward positions the Miami Heat have one or two players to spare who can be turned into more helpful pieces at other positions. This gives you a wide variety of options when taking over the Heat, so in this video I will show you three ideas for moves to make with the Miami Heat in NBA 2K17 MyGM or MyLeague mode.

We will take a look at the Miami Heat roster, rotation, contracts and salaries and then make two trades involving a total of three players. Our main goals are to add back-up players at critical positions and also to get rid of unwanted contracts. We will also have an extensive look at the Miami Heat team and player options, because the team has a lot of them. As always in this MyGM / MyLeague mode series we will try to keep the Miami Heat core together and don’t make any high-profile trades to keep this NBA 2K17 video as realistic as possible.

PLEASE NOTE: I have recorded this NBA 2K17 MyGM guide in the MyLeague mode of NBA 2K17. This was done to prevent my 2k account from leveling up in MyGM. All moves that are made in this video in MyLeague mode can also be made without any problems in MyGM mode.

This NBA 2K17 MyGM video aims to be a realistic guide with ideas on what moves to make in the first year of either MyGM or MyLeague mode. There might be better moves to make – there might also be worse moves to make. NBA 2K17 MyGM mode always offers multiple strategies to achieve success and this video tries to outline only one of them. Above all, realism is key in this series – as far as the game allows for it. We will not go after the same big name free-agents every year and we will not exploit NBA 2K17’s trade logic.

NBA 2K17 is a basketball simulation video game developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K Sports. It is the 18th installment in the NBA 2K franchise and the successor to NBA 2K16. It was released worldwide on September 20, 2016, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. Several game modes are included, such as MyCareer, where the player creates a customizable player and plays through their career, MyGM and MyLeague, both franchise modes where the player controls an entire organization, and MyTeam, where the player creates a team to compete against other players' teams.

All NBA 2K17 MyGM gameplay was recorded on the PC at 1080p.
