Suspect shot, killed after leading officers on chase in Placer County

A suspect was shot and killed Friday afternoon after leading California Highway Patrol officers on a chase through two counties, the Placer County Sheriff's Office said.  The suspect was shot after the chase ended in a crash near Foresthill High School. No officers were injured in the incident. It is unclear if the suspect was armed.  The chase began around 4 p.m. in Nevada County. The suspect led CHP southbound on Highway 49 in Nevada County, into Placer County, through parts of Auburn and ended in Foresthill, officials said.
