I am sure that many of you have an old Macintosh with 'valuable' files that you wish you can copy to your newer Mac.  Here is how I backup the entire hard drive from my good old Macintosh Quadra 700 under Mac OS 7.1 (or then called System 7) to my Mac Mini with Mac OS X 10.3 via ethernet! All you need is a twisted pair on the Macintosh Quadra, connect the ethernet cable to the Mac Mini, a few setups and voila!  Simple!
