Breaking News: Indian guru sentenced to ten years in prison on rape charges

The spiritual guru Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has been sentenced to ten years in prison. The self-styled 'Godman' was convicted on Friday of raping two of his followers in 2002. At least 38 people were killed in riots after that verdict was announced. Thousands of police have been deployed across northern India to prevent a repeat of the violence.
