Image hearing the words as you read them. No you're not going crazy but you may be using ImaJinsha's Sound Pen (or, in Japanese, Onpitsu).
The Onpitsu allows users to listen to music or spoken words from books, papers, and maps (pretty much ANY printed material) just by touching the printed words with the pen.
"For example if you are using a CD player and you want to listen to a specific part you need to select the track number of the page you want to listen to. But, with this pen, you can instantly listen to the audio just by touching the pen to the page."
This self-guided learning can be enhanced if headphones are used as the MP3 quality is quite high.
Each pen holds up to 256MB, which is about 6 CDs, and can be modified directly by a PC or by simply replacing the card with a different one.
Since April, many publishing companies have been releasing books and magazines compatible with the Onpitsu system.
