hey what's going on i just wanted to talk a little about some Rock Band 4 news that came out of PAX East this weekend in Boston. Now unfortunately Rock Band 4 was really a no show nothing was shown off about the game. The only thing that you could see of any evidence at Rock Band 4 at Pax East was that you were able to pre order the penny arcade limited edition guitar that is available for the game. So you could only order it if you were at pax, but that was basically it. but newgamernation actually did an interview with harmonix about Rock Band 4. If you want to see the interview you can click the annotation box, but in this video i am going to break down exactly what was said in the interview so when they announced rock band 4 last week. So on the day they announced it it was either wednesday or thursday rock band was apparently the second top trending hashtag on twitter for that day which is pretty impressive. So apparently a lot of people love rock band and are still talking about the announcement. All the DLC you bought for rock band 1 through 3 as well as on disc exports for 1, 2 as well as lego and green day will transfer over. There will be no rock band 3 on disc songs that will appear on rock band 4. Those are obviously due to licensing issues There are no plans to bring the series to the Wii U on the next generation they did say because they are an independently owned studio that when they make business decisions they have to be super focused and you know the market just isn't there for the Wii U. They did say if the PS4 and Xbox One versions sell extremely well there is a chance it may come to the Wii U but don't hold your breath on it. The other thing they were asked was whether how many songs we'd be seeing on disc for Rock Band 4. They didn't have an answer they safe still sorting out which songs will appear on disc obviously because of how licensing works they said a lot of the times it comes down to the wire. Usually a month comes out they will know what the setlist list will be and and as they get more and more songs licensed they may switch the order in which some songs may appear so some DLC that's planned after the game launches may appear on disc. All they would say is that there will be dozens and dozens of songs and if you look at past releases of the series the number of songs range anywhere from 40 something to 83 or 85 songs. I think you'll probably see something on the higher side. They are still working on getting your old instruments to work they are hopeful they will be able to do it but they haven't 100% confirmed it. If you guys want to know when preorders go live for Rock Band 4 you can sign up and be notified. at www.rockband.com/preorder. And then the last thing which was the most surprising thing about the interview is that apparently a lot of people at harmonix are fans of Rocksmith. During the interview harmonix recognized that pro guitar didn't turn out the way they intended it to be and it wasn't as big of a hit as they thought it would be either but they did say they are big fans of locksmith they think it does a better job of teaching people how to play guitar i totally agree with that. i thought pro guitar was such a waste of time and waste of focus when it came to rock band 3 and i am glad they are removing it and i think i don't know why anyone would want to play pro guitar when you have a game like locksmith.
