Dear Applebee's, One year ago the "Most Interesting Woman in Endurance Sports" and my ultimate running crush made a pact with me--"You finish your first 100 miler by 8pm, Chris, and I'll be waiting for you at the Applebee's in Auburn (California)." I ended up finishing 2 hours later and by the time I arrived at 'Bee's, Amelia was gone. Devastated, I vowed to return to the same Western States course the following year and prove my worth to Amelia by finishing in a more respectable time. Since then, I've quit my job to focus full-time on #ImpressingAmelia. We're now just 3 weeks out from race day and it's time to start planning. Instead of risking another 8pm catastrophe, I'm planning to take Amelia (and any other interested runners--the more the merrier!) to Applebee's the afternoon after the race for a festive brunch celebration following the awards ceremony. And this is where you come in, Applebee's--anything you can do to support this momentous occasion and make it all the more special for Amelia and I would go a long way.
