A blow for investigations into what caused EgyptAir Flight MS-804 to crash in the Mediterranean last month. State television's reporting the black box memory units are indeed damaged. That contradicts previous reports indicating they were intact. The latest news mean extracting the information from the flight recorders will take longer than expected. They're being analyzed in Egypt today to see if the memory can be extracted. If that fails, the black boxes will be taken to the manufacturing company in the United States for expert analyst. The plane went down last month. It's not clear whether it was a technical fault or possibly an external factor. All 66 people on board were killed.
