After some initial testing, I have decided on a build based on a Bolivian solar cooking project sponsored by the UN. The design seems simple enough and I learned some Spanish while watching the video. As opposed to the small commercial units, the oven I'm making is bigger enough to cook several dishes instead of one or two.
I have the glass already and I have an aluminum AC cover I can use as the inner liner. I have to make a simple outer box and make some reflectors on four sides. I don't want to spend too much money so I'll skip the mylar as reflective material for now. You've heard it often enough, It's so hot it's like an oven in here, or out there. Let's hope this solar oven will indeed be hot enough to cook.
