8/19/14 Sea Lions were trapped by ODFW & PSMFS and branded with hot irons because sea lions eat fish.

They use the brand to identify an animal if he is eating fish at the Bonneville Dam, and if he is seen anywhere in Oregon for 5 consecutive days over a 5 year period. 
 Nobody can survive this austere diet plan, and to be constantly harassed in their own river home takes its toll. The animals have no other food choices, and the river and ocean habitats are eroding/ warming under the weight of human mass extraction. 

An archaic out dated policy enacted by the state that inflicts pain upon those most innocent and deserving of protection. These animals will only survive if humans will share. They rely solely on the kindness of others. Especially, the kindness of the biggest predator on the planet.

  Animals are not cruel, and the lion does not kill for sport or join forces with the jackals, so they can eradicate 46 % of the population of the zebras-- only humans do such cruel calculations. 

Please call Governor Kitzhaber and ask that Oregon stop participating in the "lethal take" of sea lions on the Columbia River for eating fish. And they should never be targeted in their coastal home. Enough is enough and the time is now for humans to share because one day it might be someone you know who is hungry, and hopefully the state will not be shooting at them for eating what they simply need to survive...

And if there is going to be "truly" salmon for all -- then humans must share because-there are over 300 plus other species on Earth that rely on salmon for their sustenance and survival-- not mere sport or profit.
