Welcome to "Guitar Technique" episode 013... In this lesson, we’re going to study right hand fret tapping technique. This technique has been around for years, but guitarist “Eddie Van Halen” brought it forward into the main-stream during the 1980’s. His instrumental guitar song “Eruption” was not only a big hit, but it also worked this two-handed tapping technique into the main-stream. The technique itself involves mixing tapping done by the fret-hand along with tapping done by the pick-hand. In this lesson we’ll study popular approaches for two hand tapping that will include; single and double taps, tapping off a fretted tone, Van Halen Style Tapping, tapping into open strings and crossing strings during a tapping run.
